On October 13 th , 2021 Jill Sleight was presented with the 2019-2020 CIF Southern Section Distinguished Service Award.

This award is a unique and prestigious accolade, which recognizes a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association who displays an exceptional commitment to mentoring, professional development, and enhancing the quality of health care, as well as demonstrates the highest level of service, professionalism, and competence.

Jill Sleight is a Certified Athletic Trainer, The Executive Director and Co-Founder of West Coast Sports Medicine Foundation and Co-Founder of the Team to Win Program.
The Distinguished Service Award is presented to outstanding individuals for
their years of dedicated contributions towards the student-athletes of the
CIF Southern Section. Jill Sleight has and continues to be a pillar of our athletic and scholastic community in Southern California. The Distinguished Service Award was presented by Rob Wigod, CIF Southern Section Commissioner of Athletics.

In 1994 Jill co-founded the West Coast Sports Medicine Foundation for
which she is serving as the Executive Director today. She also created the
Team to Win program and is a strong advocate for Certified Athletic
Trainers in our high schools.

Jill Sleight created the Sports Medicine Mentoring program, which provides
internships for students interested in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine,
along with scholarships for students pursuing careers in Sports Medicine.
She is a member of the CIF State Sports Medicine Advisory Committee,
Inaugural Member of the CIF Southern Section Athletic Trainers Advisory
Committee, and a past member of the National Federation of High Schools
Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.
Jill was the winner of the 2019 Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association of
Excellence in Athletic Training Award and is excited and proud to add
2019-2020 CIF Southern Section Distinguished Service Award to her
record.

Jill Sleight has a long list of accomplishments and hours of dedication to
Student-Athletes and Athletic Trainers in the community. We are so proud
of Jill Sleight and all she has accomplished!
